Taos

Our farm is located close to Taos, the Taos Ski Valley and Red River, and is surrounded by the immense beauty of Carson National Forest. The valley inhabitants date back hundreds, if not thousands of years. Archeological sites abound. The San Cristobal creek runs through the valley’s middle from the lofty peak of Gold Hill, and the Rio Grande wild land corridor is just to the west. In the winter, cold and snow-covered, in the summer verdant and green where everything grows.

It’s notable that during the last one hundred years in San Cristobal, and in particular at the Taos Goji Farm, numerous literati passed through our place. Some stayed overnight, others stayed for long periods, while the locals stopped off for mail, groceries or kerosene at our historic Trading Post. We’ve taken the liberty to name our cabins after some of these visitors. Aldous Huxley lived and wrote on this very property. In fact, he built the outhouse which still stands. Our cabins represent the original craftsmanship of early settlers. Constructed of logs and adobe, they appear unchanged for the last one hundred years.
